Bringing Care Back to Nursing

Bringing Care Back to Nursing* is an educational program designed to strengthen compassionate, patient-centered nursing practice by reconnecting healthcare professionals with the human aspects of care. This activity aims to enhance nurses’ ability to translate empathy, compassion, and cultural understanding into meaningful clinical actions that improve patient and family experiences. The program will explore the foundations of compassionate care, the role of empathy in building trust, culturally responsive care approaches, and practical strategies to overcome barriers that may affect compassionate practice. Participants will also examine the balance between technology-driven healthcare delivery and maintaining genuine human connection. Through interactive discussions, real-life scenarios, and reflective experiences, nurses will develop practical approaches to provide safe, respectful, and individualized care while supporting resilience and preventing compassion fatigue. The program is intended for nurses and will be facilitated by experienced nursing educators.
